He was pissed. Pissed and hurt. She couldn't even call him to tell him she wouldn't be there. Hell he would have even been happy with a damn text message. But nope. She couldn't do that.

Instead he sat there and waited and waited while the nice dinner he had worked so hard to cook for her sat ruined in the kitchen. He had even taken the time to have his cousin teach him how to cook that meal so he could make it special for Destiny.

He had called the station that night and was told that she was off duty. So he knew she wasn't working late. 

But whatever. He could keep their relationship on the professional level. It wasn't like she was the first woman to reject him.

He pushed it from his mind and grabbed the file she dropped on his desk. He looked through it then picked up his phone. He asked his secretary to call Destiny's office and let her know that he would need to talk to the arresting officer as soon as it was possible.

Destiny had to drive to the hospital first, she looked at David as she smiled a bit as he took her in... She took her shirt off so he could look at her shoulder a bit.

Destiny: How is it healing?

She asked hoping she was done with the antibotics, they made her feel like crap... She saw him smile and nod.

Destiny: Good.

She said thinking about it.

David: He still not talking to you?

Destiny: Nope, he still won't even let me explain what happened... but oh well..

She sighed shrugging a bit as he put another bandage there, then let her put her shirt back on as she sat there looking at him.

Destiny: Thanks doc.

She said as she took her leave heading back, she got the message as she sighed she could tell that he hadn't looked fully at the case , yeah she had it off , but she had been attacked, and she had made the arrest.. She went back to his office as hse knocked on the door.

Destiny: Reese, I was the arresting officer...Read the file fully..

She said waiting for him to finish it as she was sitll just standing there, as he found out she had been attacked while she was trying to fix a flat tire.  She had been on her way to his place.

He looked up at her.

"Are you okay, Destiny?"

She looked at him when he asked..

Destiny: I'm fine.

She said simply as she stood there.

Destiny: I tried to tell you, the next day, I didn't get out of the ER until you were back in your office, but you were too pissed to even hear me out.

She said as she looked at him.

He nodded and sighed.

"I'm sorry, Destiny. I was upset. I should have listened instead of letting my pride take over."

He looked at her smiling softly.

"Think we can try again?"

She looked at him thinking about it, she was still a bit upset with how he reacted, but nodded her head after a moment.

Destiny: Yeah, I guess..

She said a bit hestitant but was willing to give him a second chance.

He got up from his desk and walked around to stand in front of her.

"May I see it?"

She was confused a moment then saw him look at her shoulder..

Destiny: Oh, yeah, your brother just checked it.. Said it's healing nice.

She said as she opened her shirt up a bit, and moved the bandage back so he could check it out for himself..

He frowned then lowered his head and kissed beside it. He didn't want to risk it getting infected from a kiss so made sure not to kiss the spot itself.

"I'm sorry, Destiny. I should have listened to you."

She was shocked when he did that as it took her a moment to even speak, when moved his head back a bit, she put the bandage on it as she smiled a bit.

Destiny: It's okay.

He smiled softly.

"Today is Thursday. I work tomorrow. How does Saturday sound?"

She thought about it as she nodded..

Destiny: Saturday is fine.

She siad as she thought about it, she had been on light duty anyways, so figured unless something big came up it wouldn't be a problem.

He was glad it would work for her. It gave him a chance to go to the grocery and fix the same dinner for her.

"If for some reason you can't make it, can you please call or text me? And tell David that if you end up there again, he is to call me."

She nodded as hse looked at him thinking about it.

Destiny: Will do..

She was about to leave, but her phone wnet off as she answered it...

Destiny: Yes... what... Okay..

She siad as she started to move quicker.

Destiny: My place is on fire...

He jumped up and went with her.

"My car. I'll drive."

She nodded as she got in his car, as she knew it was the smart thing to do.

Destiny;Thanks

He drove to her house and frowned seeing that there wasn't much left of it.

"I'm sorry, Destiny."

He reached out and took her hand in his.

"You can stay with me, if you want."

She sighed a bit as she was starting to get out.

Destiny: I'll be alright.. Thanks though.

She said as she was looking around a bit... Things just weren't seeing to be accidents, her flat tire, being attacked, and now her house fire.. She looked around as she saw the fire department there.. She talked to them a bit, and she knew it, when they told her it was Aresan.

Destiny: I want the whole area checked out, anything you find that looks a bit off, make it evidence.

She told her officers as they were all showing up.  She kept her mind focused on the crime scene, not pushing it that she was the victim.

Reese stayed by the car so that he was out of the way.

He could see that she was upset but trying to hide it.

He called his sister and asked her to do a few things for him. She said they would be ready when he got home."

She looked around a bit herself trying to see what she could fine.

Destiny: Thank you everyone.

She said after a bit heading ot the car..

Reese looked at her as she got in the car.

"Anything that could be saved?"

She shook her head as she was just tuning that out right now.

Desitny: No.. Can you take me back to the office so i can get my car.

She said as she was going to do some invesgating herself.

He nodded and headed for his office where her car should have been parked. However it wasn't there.

"We'll check the security tape."

She sighed as she got out of his car looking around a bit, then nodded as she follwed him inside.  She just wasn't having a good day today...

They went inside and Reese frowned when he didn't see the security guard at the desk. What they saw instead was a trail of blood leading from the desk to Reese's office.

"This isn't a good sign."

She moved to stand infront of him, as she pulled out her gun.

Destiny: Call 911, tell them to get her now... Stay here..

She said as she had her gun with her as she checked to make sure each room was clear on her way to Reese, before she pushed open the door, she checked the room, finding the guard on the desk dead.. and on the wall written  "My Destiny"  She frowned, closing the door before Reese could see it..

Destiny: Let's go wait outside.

She said not wanting to stay in there either, as she checked making sure everything was clear before going out, as the cops soon showed up here, with the cororner, and a bus..

Destiny: We need to find this guy now..

Reese heard them talking about heard what was found on the wall.

"My Destiny? That's what I call her. Only one person knows that though."

He called his sister and frowned when he heard her cell ringing in the bushes.

"Destiny!"

He waited until she came over and told her about calling Jenny and her phone ringing in the bushes. He could already tell that Jenny wasn't there.

"He took her, Destiny. He took Jenny."

She went over to Reese, calming him down a bit as police came over.

Destiny: Calm down Reese. him taking her is a good thing... That means he wants her a live.

She said as she knew by what happened in the office, he didnt' care about keeping anyone alive unless he needed too.

Destiny: Which means he'll contact at some point.

She said as she was kind of figuring what he was wanting... As she ran her hand through her hair getiing it out of her face as she was looking around a bit.

He was worried about his little sister. If the guy hurt her, he wouldn't have to worry about jail. Reese would kill him.

"You know Lucas is going to want in on this now."

She nodded as she was thinking about it, with him being a  PI , it would be useful to have all the help she could get.

Destiny: He can work with Hope, on this.

She said knowing everyone would be in on this,

He couldn't help grin at that.

"I'll buy him a helmet. He'll probably need it."

She shook her head thinking about it.

Destiny: I see the way he looks at her... I also know they spend a lot of private time together.

She said knowing they were pretty close.

Reese thought about what she was saying.

"I doubt there's anything between them. Lucas is gay."

She looked at him as she just shook her head a bit.

Desitny: Yeah sure he was, that's why I caught them screwting in the back of her jeep.

He looked at her shocked.

"Really?"

He saw her nod.

"Wow. I wasn't expecting that."

She nodded a bit as she was turning back to the crime a bit more as she was signing papers that where coming her way, maing sure it was all done by the book, even though for her it was more personal.

Destiny: Thank you.

She said as things were being taken to the lab now.

Destiny: I should go to the ofice.

Reese nodded listening to her.

"If that is where you wish to go. I am your driver for the night."

She nodded as she was thinking about it... He helped her back into his car as he drove her back to the office... When she to got there she was greeted by her boss...Oh, that couldn't be good for him to make this trip... He asked to chat in her office..

It was about ten minutes later when you saw her walking out slamming the door on her way out, as she wasn't happy... He looked at her.

Destiny: I've been pulled off... They wont' let me work on the case, and they are going to put a sub chief in for right now, until they think I'll be safe.

She was royaly pissed as she went outised pacing around.

He hated seeing her this upset.

"Who are they putting in your place?"

She looked at him when he asked.

Destiny: Your brother, Joseph.

He knew how much Joseph looked up to Destiny.

"At least he will step back down without a fight afterwards. And you know he will do everything he can to find this creep."

He looked over at her.

"I think he has a little crush on you."

She thought about the message on his office wall..

Destiny: He isn't the only one.

She said pacing a bit, she wasn't going to back down from this, she wasn't going to just sit around and wait to see what happens..

He wrapped his arms around her forcing her to stop walking.

"He will be found, Destiny. You will have your job back before you know it."

She didn't like this, she felt like she was going nuts.

Destiny: I can't just not do nothing, to just sit around and sulk... I don't sulk... I don't even know how... I mean i can't sit home cause some asshole burnt it to the ground.

She stopped struggling after a moment as she jurst rested her head on his shoulder a bit thinking about it.

He held her in his arms and rubbed her back.

"You don't have to set around and do nothing. You can help me on my end of the case."

She nodded a bit as she thought about it.

Destiny: Okay.

She said after a moment.

He smiled as he looked at her.

"You will be right there in the middle of it all. Just from the prosecuting side instead of the police side. You'll still have all of the information and be able to work on the case. And your boss can't stop you because you won't be working for him."

She nodded as she thought about it, knowing that he was right, it still kept her in the loop and gave her a chance to figure things out, and she still got to keep her gun, they wanted her to be protected so she didn't feel totally defenseless...

Destiny: I guess we should get out of here, for now.

She said not wanting to stand around outside..

He walked her back to his car and helped her inside. He walked around and climbed in.

"Do you think Jenny is okay?"

She nodded her head as hse figured she was alright, thinking about what she had already seen.

Destiny: He wants her alive... I have a feeling we'll hear from him soon enough on what he wants.

She said having a feeling she knew what he was wanting in trade for Jenny.

Reese nodded and sighed.

"I really hope so."

He reached over and took her hand in his.

She looked at him.

Desitny: I'll do anything that I can to make sure she is back safttly, Reese , you have my word.

She said as she wouldn't let an innocent get her because of her if sh could help it.

Destiny: I know you're worried, but you just have to keep faith that she is just fine.

He nodded thinking about it.

"It's my fault she was at the office. She's been working as my assistant and I had her working on something for me."

She looked at him, thinking it may help figure out how the guy got in there like he did.

Destiny: What was she working on?

He thought about what he had asked her to do.

"She was trying to find someone for me. An old friend from when I was in law school."

She was thinking about it.

Destiny: Who where you looking for?

"Her name is  Abigail."

He looked over at her.

"I had heard that her husband died and was  wanting Jenny to find an address for her so I could send some flowers and see if she needed anything."

She was thinking about it..

Destiny: Try to find out who she got in touch with before this all happened, maybe there is a link there.

She said s she thought about it.

He nodded thinking about it.

"I really hate that all of this is happening. I feel like we are all a target right now. Who is he going to use next?"

She was hating this herself, feeling rather useless right now as she was thinking about it.

Destiny: I don't know...

She said after a moment pause.

He pulled into the garage and saw Jenny setting there on the step by the door.

"Jenny!"

He quickly turned off the car and jumped out running over to her. He could see she was in pretty bad shape.

He led her to the car so they could take her to the hospital.

Desitny looked around as Reese got her int he car.

Destiny: Take her.. I'm calling Hope and Crystal.

She said as she pulled her phone out calling them, and then pulling her gun out as Reese didn'tlike it but didnt' have a choice, as Jenny was hystercal from seeing someone die inf ront of her.. Destiny checked the area, seeing a note, she didn't touch waiting for bck up.

Desitny stood there pointing to the note with her name on it.

Destiny: i didn't touch it, I don't have any gloves on me.

She said honestly as she was looking watching

Desitny put the gloves on as hse got down looking.

Destiny; He's just playing with us.

She said reading the letter, seeing what he wrote as she was thinking about it.

Desitny nodded as she agreed as she was thinking about it.

Destiny: We still do this by the book...

She said looking at him, knowing how personal it was to both of them, but she didn't want anything to happen to anyone else.

Desitny nodded thinking about it as she stood up handing him the note as she was looking around a bit, trying to figure things out..

Destiny: This guy really ddi his homework... To plan all of this .. To know where to go, to know how to do things.. So he isn't seen..

She said as she saw the wires to the hosue where cut, so the cameras where gone, she looked around the house...

Destiny: Think he hung around? 

She said as she started slowly for the door, knowing he was behind her.

The smoke was coming in as the fire was burning, Destiny looked around as she saw a window, as she pointed to it, and pushed Joseph to it, as he sent a chair through it as they were able to get out, as she was coughing a bit as he was calling it in, telling fire fighters to get there, luckily they were able to get it out before too  much damage was done.

Reese heard the call about his house. He left Jenny with David and drove home breaking all kinds of speed limits and other traffic laws.

"Destiny?? Joseph??"

He looked around for the two of them but it was too dark and there were too many people around.

Desitny was getting treated for her wounds a bit, as Joseph heard his brother letting him know that everyone was alright as Destiny snuck out of the ambulance just walking around a bit.

Reese saw her walking and went after her.

"Are you okay?"

Desitny nodded a bit as she was thinking about it, she wasn't happy but she was alright. 

Destiny: Yes, I'm alright, I'm sorry about your home.

He shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm not worried about the house. It can be replaced. You and Joseph can't be though."

He looked at her worried.

"Are you sure you are okay?"

Destiny looked around thinking about it, she was physically alright, but it was starting to wear her down a bit, but she nodded her head anyways.

Destiny: Yes, i'm fine..

He slid his arms around her and sighed.

"This is starting to get out of hand. We really need to catch him before someone else gets hurt."

She nodded agreeing with him thinking about it, she could have died, so could have his brother, it was getting to be too much.

He rubbed her back while thinking over things.

"We'll go stay at the hotel. They have a good security team there."

She nodded after a moment as she was thinking about it.

Destiny: Okay..

He put his finger under her chin so she had to look up at him.

"I am glad you are okay."

He thought about kissing her, but she had enough surprises for the night. One more could push her over the edge.

She didn't really feel okay but nodded her head a bit.

Destiny: I need to get out of here for a bit... Think you can take me to the hotel...

He nodded and led her to his car.

Once at the hotel they got one of the suites so they could still be together but separate beds.

She walked in sitting on the bed as she was thinking about everything.

Destiny: Thanks.

She said as she was glad he brought her here and was here.

He sat down beside her and wrapped his arms around her.

"I know we've had our problems lately. I'm still here for you, Destiny. I always will be."

She leaned against him as she was thinking about it.

Destiny: I know, Reese, thank you.

She said as she glad that he was here.

He missed them being like this. But it was his fault for fucking up. Hell it was his fault just for fucking actually. Fucking and getting caught.

"Tomorrow we need to go shopping for clothes. We can't stay in these forever."

She nodded knowing he was right, as she had to start over, which she didn't really care about, she was at least glad they could save his house, there was enough bad things going on.

Destiny: Yeah, worry about that tomorrow.

She said as she sat up a bit thinking about it..

He looked at her and smiled softly.

"You are always welcome to stay with me. We may not have a house at the moment. At least not until mine is repaired. But you are always welcome wherever I am at."

She smiled a bit as she looked at him as she was thinking about it.

Destiny: Thank you.

She said as she looked at him...

He looked at her and smiled softly.

"I still care about you, Destiny. I still care a lot."

She looked at him when he said that.

Destiny: I know Reese, and I care a lot about you too....

He held her hands in his thinking about everything.

"I'm sorry for the mistakes I made in the past. I know it doesn't change anything, but I wanted you to know anyway."

She nodded konwing he was..

Destiny: we cleared this up already.. At least with us here together, you know I wont' miss our date ....

He nodded and leaned toward her kissing her cheek.

"I love you."

She looked at him when he said that.

Destiny: I love you, too, Reese

She said honestly.

He smiled hearing that. He kissed her softly.

"A fresh start for the two of us?"

She kissed him back as she looked at him thinking about it.

Destiny: I like that.

She said as she nodded.
